We built Good News Towing around a simple idea: when something unexpected happens with your vehicle, the company you call should be a safe place to turn.
Why We Started
Good News Towing started because we wanted people to feel cared for and prioritized in an industry they often have to call during a stressful moment.
If you want a sandwich, you have options. You can make one at home, go to a restaurant, or decide you do not want one at all. Towing is different. If your vehicle breaks down on the highway or cannot safely be driven, most people do not have the equipment to move it themselves. There are also rules for moving disabled vehicles safely. At some point, somebody has to move that vehicle.
You are not necessarily calling because you want a tow. You are calling because you need one.
We never wanted that need to become an excuse for somebody to feel taken advantage of. The purpose from the beginning was to help bring towing costs down while giving people a company where they could feel respected, cared for, and safe asking for help.
When your vehicle has already given you bad news, the person who shows up should help make the situation better, not worse. We want to listen, explain what we are doing, charge a fair price, and take care of you and your vehicle the best we can.
Our Story
The look of the company has changed over time. The reason behind it has not.
At the beginning of 2023, we started putting the pieces of Good News Towing together. The goal was already clear: build a towing company around fair pricing, safe service, and genuinely caring about the people who call us.

Before the towing side of the company officially got rolling, there were a handful of times when we helped drivers with roadside services such as jump starts while we continued preparing the business for what it would become.

February 1, 2024 is the date the towing side of Good News Towing really came alive. Our first tow truck began serving drivers, and the idea we had been building could finally be put into practice one call at a time.
Good News Towing has grown since those early days, but the purpose is still simple. We want drivers in Johnson County to have a company they can call when the unexpected happens and know they will be treated fairly, safely, and with care.
What Matters to Us
Towing is often an expense you did not plan for. We regularly check towing prices in Johnson County and aim to keep our pricing about $50 below comparable local market rates. The goal is to make the cost more reasonable, not take advantage of a moment when you need help.
Breakdowns can be stressful, especially on a highway or away from home. We want you to feel comfortable asking questions and knowing what is happening with your vehicle.
For us, caring means trying to show the love of Christ to every person we meet. We believe each person is created in God's image and deserves to be treated with integrity, respect, and care, the same way we would want our own family treated.
Where the Name Came From
Before the company started, our owner was already helping people when their vehicles had left them stranded. Again and again, customers would say things like, “Thanks for the good news,” or, “It’s been nothing but good news since you got here.” Those moments are what planted the name Good News Towing.
That is still what we want the name to mean when our truck arrives. A broken-down vehicle may still be bad news, and we may not always be able to fix the problem on the spot, but you should know that help is there and there is a path forward. It is a little like hearing a fire truck coming toward a fire: the emergency has not disappeared, but the people coming to help have arrived.
The name carries another meaning for our family, too. Good News points us to the good news of salvation and reminds us why showing love, honesty, and care to the people we meet matters.
When you face bad news, you will always have Good News.
